Exporting and Importing RENDR Plans into 2020 Design Live®

Steps to Export from RENDR:

  1. Complete your scan in the RENDR app. Ensure you have thoroughly scanned the entire space you wish to design in 2020 Design Live®.

  2. Navigate to the completed scan. Once your scan is finished, open it within the RENDR app.

  3. Locate the "Export" button. Within the scan details, you will find an option to export the plan.

  4. Select the 2020 export option. Among the export choices, tap on the button specifically labeled "Export 2020 .xml".

  5. Initiate the export. Once you select the 2020 option, the RENDR app will process the scan data into a format compatible with 2020 Design Live®.You can transfer the exported file to your computer via various methods such as:

    1. Airdrop (for Apple devices).

    2. Emailing the file.

    3. Saving to cloud storage services like Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox.


Steps to Import into 2020 Design Live®:

  1. Open 2020 Design Live® on your computer.

  2. Import the .xml file. Navigate to File > Import > From Local Storage. Select Vertex XML (*.xml) in the “Files of Type” on the bottom of the import dialogue box, and select the file from your local storage. Refer to RENDR's website for specific tutorials on how to handle the imported file within 2020.

  3. Import the RENDR plan. Follow the prompts or instructions within 2020 Design Live® to complete the import of the file that was exported from RENDR. This process should be straightforward and quick.

  4. Review and refine the design. Once the RENDR plan is imported, you will have an accurate as-built within 2020 Design Live®. You may need to make a few tweaks, such as to define door types and window styles, but you should be able to finalize the layout, add design elements, and select products from the 2020 catalog right away.
