How do I get RENDR Flex?

If you’re already a RENDR customer, you already have Flex!

Simply update your app to RENDR 3.0 or later from the App Store and you’ll have access to the new experience.

If you’re using the Web app, Flex is available automatically—no additional download is required.

Where do I find Flex?

Open any existing Space or create a new scan.

You’ll now see the new editing experience built directly into RENDR.

Flex isn’t a separate app—it’s the new RENDR.

Do I need to rescan my old projects?

No.

Your existing scans work with Flex.

Simply open an older Space and begin editing.

Will my Flex edits affect my exports?

Yes!

This is one of Flex’s biggest advantages.

Every edit you make becomes the new source of truth for your project.

That means your:

  • 📄 PDF exports

  • 📐 CAD exports

  • 📊 Estimating integrations

  • 📏 Room-based parameters

all reflect your updated floor plan.

Will my room measurements and parameters update after I edit?

Yes.

When you edit your floor plan, Flex automatically recalculates the affected room data.

Things like room dimensions, square footage, perimeter, wall lengths, flooring quantities, and other room-based parameters update to match your edited plan.

Where did Field Notes go?

Field Notes are now part of Markup.

Instead of creating Field Notes as a separate feature, you now use the Markup tools to:

  • 📝 Add notes

  • 📏 Add custom dimensions

  • 📍 Place symbols

  • ✏️ Draw directly on the plan

  • 💬 Add text annotations

When exporting a PDF, simply enable the desired Markup layers to include your notes.

How do I add photos?

Photos are now managed directly from the Photos panel within your Space.

On iPhone and iPad you can:

  • 📷 Capture photos with the camera

  • 🖼️ Import photos from your Photo Library

  • ✏️ Annotate photos

  • 📤 Share photos

  • 💾 Save photos to your device

On Web, you can upload JPEG photos directly to the Space.

Will my integrations still work?

Yes.

Your edited Flex plan is what gets exported to supported integrations, including:

  • Chief Architect

  • 2020 Design Flex

  • JobTread

  • Buildxact

  • DXF

  • PDF

Your downstream workflows now benefit from the edits you make in Flex.

Do I have to use Flex?

No.

If you’d like, you can continue scanning and exporting just as you always have.

However, Flex gives you the opportunity to quickly refine your floor plan before exporting, helping produce more accurate documentation, CAD files, and estimating data.

  1. Close and reopen the app.

  2. Make sure you’re signed into the correct account.

  3. Check the App Store for any pending updates.

  4. If you’re still having trouble, contact the RENDR Support Team through Intercom and we’ll be happy to help.
