Flex is now available as a Public Beta. That means it’s usable today, but it’s not “done”— we’ll be improving and expanding it regularly (new tools, more export options, better workflows, and more)!!
Flex is built to help you quickly clean up and refine a scan (without CAD) so you can confidently export clean, accurate plans to your downstream tools.
How to open Flex
You can enter Flex directly from a Space.
From the web app
Open a Space and go to Floor Plan.
Under the Space title, you’ll see Original scan and Edit this plan.
Click/tap Edit this plan to launch Flex.
From the iPad
Open the Space details screen.
In the top-right (above the floor plan), tap the three dots (⋯) next to Export.
Select Edit in Flex.
⚠️ Original scan vs. Flex edits (read this first) ⚠️
This is the #1 thing to understand about Flex in Public Beta:
Your Original Scan stays unchanged. Flex does not overwrite or alter your original scan.
Your edits live inside Flex. When you save, you’re saving an edited Flex version of the plan.
When you exit Flex, you return to the Space screen — which still shows the Original Scan. This can make it look like nothing changed.
Where to see (and export) your edits
To review your edited plan, make more changes, or export the updated plan, you must re-enter Flex from the Space.
If you’ve already saved edits, you’ll see an option like View edited / Edit this plan near the Original scan label — use that to return to your latest saved Flex version.
**CURENT EXPORTS AVAILABLE AS OF 02/18/2026**
The DXF export is available upon launch of Flex. Coming rapidly: 2020.xml and .pdf.
Saving, closing, and versions
Save
When you tap Save, Flex will save a new edited version of your plan.
Important: Saving in Flex does not change your Original Scan — your edits are stored in Flex as the latest version.
Close
If you try to close Flex after making changes, you’ll see a warning so you can:
Keep editing, or
Close without saving
Versions
Flex maintains versions in the background as you save (ex: Version 1 → Version 2 → Version 3). For now, reopening Flex will load your latest saved version.
Coming soon –– Flex will give you the option to save multiple versions, but not in the public beta.
Editing walls
Flex supports three primary wall interactions:
1) Move an entire wall
Click/tap the wall to select it.
Drag to reposition, or type a precise value into the measurement input (if shown).
⚠️ If you enter a value without a foot/inch indicator (‘ or “), the value will automatically be recognized in inches.
2) Adjust a wall endpoint (blue handles)
Click/tap a wall to reveal blue endpoint handles.
Tap to select the endpoint you want to move (handle turns dark blue)
Drag a blue handle to adjust that wall’s endpoint.
If you drag an endpoint onto another wall and see a solid/confirmed connection, Flex will snap + create an intersection (splitting the wall as needed).
3) Move a shared corner/junction (green handle)
Click/tap directly on a corner to reveal a green handle.
Dragging the green handle moves the shared vertex for all connected walls.
⚠️ You can only grab the junction handle if no wall is currently selected.
Joining, disconnecting, and T-junction behavior (FAQ)
What happens if I remove the wall that creates a T-intersection?
If removing that intersecting wall leaves behind two wall segments connected in a straight line, Flex should merge them into one wall.
What happens if I rotate or move a wall that used to be connected at a T?
If you keep the wall connected, Flex moves the intersection so the walls stay joined at the new angle or position.
If you pull the wall away, it disconnects cleanly and moves on its own.
If removing that wall leaves behind a straight, continuous wall run, Flex automatically combines those walls into one.
If I extend a wall to meet another wall, how should it behave?
Flex will snap the end of the wall onto the other wall.
A clean intersection is created automatically.
If needed, the existing wall is split at the connection point so the joint stays clean and accurate.
Editing windows, doors, and openings
Select + edit position
Click/tap a window/door/opening to select it.
Flex will show a centerline dimension from the object to the nearest adjacent wall.
You can type a value to set the offset, or drag to reposition (within wall limits).
Resize
Use the blue drag handles to adjust the width.
Objects cannot be dragged past the boundaries of the wall or through other constrained geometry.
Delete protections
Windows/doors/openings (and walls) use a confirmation to prevent accidental deletes:
“Are you sure you want to delete this?”
What’s Coming Soon 🚧
RENDR Flex is in Public Beta, which means you’ll see frequent improvements and new capabilities. We’re actively shipping updates based on real contractor workflows.
(Timing may vary as features roll out.)
Upcoming additions include:
📤 More export integrations
Expanding beyond initial CAD exports into additional design and estimating tools.
🧱 Add walls, windows, and doors
Flex currently focuses on editing what was scanned — full creation tools are coming next.
🧰 More powerful object workflows
Expanded controls for appliances, cabinets, sinks, fixtures, and more (beyond move & snap).
➕ Add and resize objects
Place new objects and fine-tune layouts directly in Flex.
📌 Pin notes directly to the plan
Attach callouts to specific walls, rooms, or details for clear communication.
📏 Custom dimension lines
Add your own dimensions to highlight tight tolerances or critical measurements.
🪵 Flooring tools
Create and adjust flooring areas with live square-foot calculations.
🧩 Custom room tools
Define rooms your way — especially powerful for estimating workflows.
🧱 Full 3D geometry control
Adjust wall heights, window elevations, door sizes, and other vertical dimensions.
🗂️ Improved version controls
View older versions, select which one to open, and restore previous edits.
🧲 Smarter snapping & constraints
Ongoing improvements to joins, alignment, and geometry handling so Flex stays fast and clean.
