It connects your RENDR scan data directly with your JobTread account, allowing you to leverage captured measurements and details for various stages of your projects, from initial ballparks to change orders. This integration is primarily for interior remodelers, kitchen and bath companies, design-builds, and general contractors.

How to Get Started with the Integration

Connecting your RENDR account with your JobTread account is a straightforward process.

  1. Scan the Space: Begin by scanning the interior space using the RENDR app on a compatible iOS device (iPhone Pro or iPad Pro with LiDAR).

  2. Navigate in JobTread: In your JobTread account, go to the Settings menu.

  3. Find Integrations: Select the Integrations option within the Settings.

  4. Locate RENDR: Find the RENDR integration listed among the available integrations.

  5. Connect Accounts: Click the button to connect RENDR.

  6. Log In to RENDR: You will be directed to the RENDR web app login page. Log in to your RENDR account using your email and password.

  7. Grant Permission: You will see a message asking for permission to share information between your RENDR account and JobTread. Confirm that you are okay with sharing this information.

  8. Integration is Live: The integration should now be live.

The initial setup can be done relatively quickly, although fully optimizing the workflow with templates may take about 1-2 weeks.

How the Integration Helps (Key Benefits)

The RENDR/JobTread integration provides several significant advantages for remodeling businesses:

  • Faster and Easier Estimating: Sync project data, including photos, plans, and parameters, directly into JobTread. Use RENDR parameters to automatically populate quantities in your JobTread templates, allowing you to build estimates at lightning speed. This reduces manual entry and saves time compared to traditional measuring. It allows you to quickly generate ballpark estimates, design agreement price ranges, full proposals, and streamline change orders.

  • Remote Engagement: Initiate the preliminary sales process or gather site data without needing to physically visit the location by using the Invite to Capture feature directly within JobTread. RENDR becomes a truly remote engagement tool.

  • Time Savings: Reduce travel time and gas costs by obtaining spatial data remotely. Estimate jobs and qualify leads faster than ever before. Obtain information needed to begin budget discussions sooner. Get data quickly back to the office for preparing change orders. You can essentially "door dash" measurements from a client's home. It's described as being able to put together an entire estimate instantly from miles away, without ever leaving your chair.

  • Empower Team Members: Equip team members, including those less familiar with construction pricing or even homeowners and project managers, to contribute to the data gathering process by using the Invite to Capture feature. Invitees do not need their own RENDR account to perform a scan via invitation.

  • Workflow Streamlining: The integration is designed to be seamless and easy to use. It helps streamline your entire design-build process and sales cycle.

  • Improved Accuracy: While not replacing critical field measures, RENDR scans provide highly accurate measurements, typically within 1-2% of actual dimensions, serving as an excellent starting point for estimates.

How the Integration Works

Once your accounts are linked, you can connect your RENDR scan data to specific jobs in JobTread and utilize the captured information.

  • Linking RENDR Scans to JobTread Jobs:

    • In JobTread, navigate to the dashboard for a specific job.

    • You will see a "Manage RENDR Spaces" button (due to the active integration).

    • Click this button to see a list of your RENDR spaces.

    • Select the desired RENDR space(s) from the list to link them to the JobTread job.

    • You can link multiple RENDR scans (e.g., for a kitchen and a laundry room) to a single JobTread job. JobTread makes it easy to select an existing project or names the job based on the JobTread job name for congruency.

    • When you link a space, photos associated with the scan come through instantly into JobTread. The PDF floor plan upload to JobTread files is expected in a future release; currently, you would typically export the PDF from RENDR separately.

  • Utilizing Parameters:

    • After linking the scan, you will see a Parameters button. Click this button to view the list of parameters found within the scan.

    • You need to import these parameters into your JobTread job to make them available.

    • RENDR captures general parameters about the space, such as square footage, perimeter, and linear feet of cabinets, and the number of sinks. These parameters are considered "locked and loaded" and cannot be modified within the RENDR app.

    • In JobTread's Parameters Catalog, you can add RENDR parameters.

    • You then create or use budget templates where cost items use formulas that pull quantities directly from the imported RENDR parameters. This enables rapid estimate creation.

    • You can use parameters to inform quantities for specific items or for everything in a template. Examples include flooring, paint, vanity lights, mirrors, and faucets, with the number of sinks parameter being useful for the latter items.

  • Handling Multiple Rooms/Scans:

    • If you scanned multiple rooms separately and linked them to the same JobTread job, you can use prefixes on the RENDR parameters (often based on the space name) to differentiate which room the parameters belong to. This helps organize the data.

    • Update any formulas in your templates to pull from the relevant sets of parameters for each room.

    • Note: Room-based parameters, allowing for easier selection of specific rooms for calculations within JobTread formulas, are a coming soon feature.

  • Invite to Capture via JobTread:

    • This feature is initiated from the "Manage RENDR Spaces" window within a JobTread job.

    • Click "create a new invite".

    • Enter the name and email of the invitee (e.g., homeowner or project manager) and send the invite.

    • The invitee receives an email with a link guiding them to use the RENDR app on their compatible iOS device to scan the space. They do not need a RENDR account.

    • During scanning, they simply walk through doorways without stopping between rooms; the app maps the entire floor plan.

    • Once the scan is complete, the data (space, floor plan, photos) automatically appears in your RENDR account and in JobTread under "Manage RENDR Spaces" for that job.

    • You can then review the scan, link it to the job, and import the parameters.

  • Editing Data in JobTread:

    • Although parameters are locked in RENDR, you have the ability to edit quantities in JobTread that are informed by these parameters after they have been imported.

    • JobTread can even show you which quantities you've modified compared to the original parameter data.
