Overview
A floor plan provides a top-down view of a Space.
Room Elevations provide front-facing views of the modeled wall faces within a selected room.
Use Room Elevations to review:
Wall shapes
Doors
Windows
Openings
Overall wall dimensions
Opening dimensions
Window sill heights when applicable
Room Elevations provide another way to inspect the floor plan before estimating, designing, sharing, or exporting the project.
They are especially useful for identifying conditions that may be difficult to notice from the floor plan alone.
RENDR Principle
Review the room from more than one angle. A quick elevation review can reveal issues that are easy to miss in plan view.
Before You Begin
Room Elevations are generated from the modeled floor-plan data.
In Flex 3.0, Room Elevations are view-only on:
iPhone
iPad
Web
If something needs to be corrected, return to the floor plan and make the change using the appropriate Layout tools.
After editing, reopen the Room Elevations and review the room again.
Opening Room and Wall Elevations on iPhone or iPad
You can view elevations by selecting either a room or an individual wall.
Viewing Elevations by Room
To open the elevations for a room:
Open the desired Space.
Select the room you want to review.
Open the room’s Attributes panel.
Locate the available elevation previews.
Tap an elevation preview to open the full-screen elevation gallery.
From the elevation gallery, you can:
Swipe between available elevations
Select an elevation thumbnail
Double-tap to zoom
Review the modeled walls and openings
Close the gallery when finished
When you view elevations from a selected room, Flex shows the room-facing side of each wall.
This is the best workflow for reviewing the walls as they appear from inside that room.
Viewing Both Sides of an Individual Wall
Select the wall itself when you need to inspect both of its faces.
This is especially useful when:
The two sides of the wall have different dimensions
One side faces a room and the other faces an adjoining room
The wall forms part of an exterior or outside corner
Doors, windows, or openings appear differently from each side
To view both sides of a wall:
Open the desired Space.
Tap the wall you want to inspect.
Open the wall’s Attributes panel.
Locate the wall-elevation previews.
Review the elevation for each side of the wall.
Tap a preview to open it in the full-screen elevation gallery when needed.
The two wall sides are color coded:
Green identifies one side of the wall.
Blue identifies the opposite side.
The color coding helps you understand which wall face is currently displayed.
💡 Pro Tip: Use room elevations for a complete review of the walls inside a room. Select an individual wall when you need to compare both faces or verify a condition that may differ from one side to the other.
Opening Room Elevations on Web
To open Room Elevations on Web:
Open the desired Space.
Select the room you want to review.
Open the room’s Attributes or information panel.
Select the Elevations tab.
Scroll through the available elevation cards.
Each elevation card represents a wall face or a grouped set of connected wall faces from the selected room.
Web Room Elevations are view-only.
Understanding Elevation Groups
An elevation does not always represent exactly one wall segment.
Some connected or collinear wall faces may be combined into one elevation view.
On Web, an elevation card may indicate how many walls are represented in that group.
When reviewing a room:
Move through every available elevation.
Review all wall faces represented in each group.
Confirm that the modeled features match the expected room conditions.
What Room Elevations Display
Depending on the modeled room, an elevation may display:
The wall shape
Overall elevation width
Overall wall height
Doors
Windows
Openings
Door, window, and opening widths
Door, window, and opening heights
Window sill height when applicable
Only features represented in the floor-plan model appear in the elevations.
A missing or incorrect feature should be corrected from the floor plan.
Correcting an Elevation Issue
Room Elevations cannot be edited directly.
If something appears incorrect:
Identify the wall or modeled feature that needs attention.
Exit the Room Elevation view.
Return to the floor plan.
Open Layout Mode.
Select the affected wall, door, window, or opening.
Make the required correction.
Save the change.
Select the room again.
Reopen Room Elevations.
Confirm that the updated model now appears correctly..
Reviewing Elevations After Floor-Plan Changes
Recheck Room Elevations after changing:
Wall geometry
Wall positions
Room boundaries
Doors
Windows
Openings
Opening locations
Opening dimensions
To review an updated room:
Complete the floor-plan edit.
Select the room.
Reopen its Room Elevations.
Review the affected elevation.
Continue through the remaining elevations to confirm that the room still appears correct.
