  • How to move around the model

  • How to select and inspect a wall

  • What cannot be done in 3D

Overview

The Web 3D Viewer provides another way to inspect your modeled Space.

Use it to review:

  • Walls

  • Doors, windows, and openings

  • Supported 3D objects

  • Wall dimensions

The 3D Viewer is view-only. Make all project changes from the 2D floor plan.

RENDR Principle

Build in 2D. Verify in 3D.

Opening the 3D Viewer

To open 3D:

  1. Open the desired Space on Web.

  2. Select 3D View.

  3. Wait for the model to load.

When 3D opens, it uses the current edited floor-plan model, including edits that have not yet been saved.

Navigating the Model

Use the following controls:

  • Left-click and drag to orbit

  • Right-click and drag to pan

  • Mouse wheel or trackpad to zoom

  • Two fingers to pan on a touch device

  • Pinch to zoom on a touch device

The camera remains above the horizon.

Selecting a Wall

Walls are the only items that can currently be selected in the Web 3D Viewer.

To inspect a wall:

  1. Move the camera until the wall is easy to see.

  2. Click the wall.

  3. Review the selected wall’s highlight.

  4. Review its information in the Attributes panel.

  5. Click the wall again or click the ground to clear the selection.

A selected wall may display:

  • Wall name

  • Overall wall length

  • Wall height

  • Measurements around doors, windows, and openings

The selected wall displays a blue highlight while the other walls are visually subdued.

Reviewing the Model

Before sharing or exporting the Space:

  1. Orbit around the model.

  2. Review the walls from several angles.

  3. Check the placement of doors, windows, and openings.

  4. Review supported objects visually.

  5. Select walls that need closer inspection.

  6. Return to 2D if a correction is needed.

  7. Reopen 3D to verify the result.
