What Auto-Clean does
When to use it
How to run Auto-Clean
How to preview the results before applying them
Overview
Auto-Clean (called Fine-Tune in the iOS editor) analyzes your floor plan and makes small geometry corrections to improve wall connectivity.
It is designed to:
Connect walls that should intersect but are slightly separated
Straighten walls that are slightly off angle
Improve wall geometry without requiring manual adjustments
Auto-Clean does not redesign your floor plan or intentionally move walls significant distances. Instead, it performs small corrections intended to improve the existing layout.
RENDR Principle
Let Auto-Clean fix small imperfections so you can focus on meaningful edits.
The best RENDR users do not rely on auto-clean to make up for poor scanning technique. RENDR wants to see your scans come through as clean as possible, with auto-clean only as a backup to repair some areas of larger scans that simply did not get captured correctly.
When Should I Use Auto-Clean?
Auto-Clean is most helpful when:
Rooms are not detecting correctly
A room boundary appears to be open
Walls almost touch but aren’t connected
Several manual edits have left the plan slightly untidy
The scan produced walls that are just slightly out of square
Many users run Auto-Clean before making extensive manual corrections.
Running Auto-Clean
To use Auto-Clean on iPhone or iPad:
Open the desired Space on your iPhone or iPad (Auto-clean is not a feature yet available on web).
Switch to Layout mode (You must be in Edit Layout mode for the Auto-Clean tool to be active)
Tap the Auto-Clean (Fine-Tune) tool.
Adjust the Strength slider if needed.
Turn Preview on to review the proposed changes.
If you’re satisfied with the results, tap Apply.
If Preview is enabled and you leave the tool without applying the changes, the preview is discarded and your floor plan remains unchanged.
Understanding the Strength Slider
The Strength slider controls how aggressively Auto-Clean adjusts nearby wall geometry.
Lower settings make smaller corrections.
Higher settings allow Auto-Clean to correct larger angle deviations and connection issues.
If the results aren’t what you expected, try a lower strength setting and preview the changes again before applying them.
Preview Before Applying
Auto-Clean includes a Preview mode so you can review the proposed changes before committing them.
If the preview looks correct:
Tap Apply to save the improvements.
If it doesn’t:
Adjust the Strength slider, or
Exit Auto-Clean without applying the changes.
Best Practices
💡 Run Auto-Clean before manually rebuilding several walls.
💡 Use Preview to inspect the proposed changes before applying them.
💡 Auto-Clean is especially helpful when rooms aren’t generating correctly or walls appear slightly disconnected.
💡 Save your project after applying Auto-Clean if you’re satisfied with the results.
Common Mistakes
Expecting Auto-Clean to Fix Major Layout Problems
Auto-Clean is intended to improve existing geometry, not rebuild an incorrect floor plan.
Using a Higher Strength Than Necessary
Start with a lower Strength setting and increase it only if additional cleanup is needed.
Forgetting to Review the Preview
Always review the proposed changes before applying them.
